Sunday Sales!

Good morning! I have a few sales for you today, but before I get started I just want to let all of you know - I do not have the sales for Ulta this week :( . I can't find their ad anywhere, and I'm wondering if it has to do with President's Day... but if I end up finding it, I will definitely edit this post to include them!

Sadly, there isn't much going on in the world of nail polish sales this week. The sales below run from today through Saturday, February 23.

Walgreens
Sinful Colors are $1 off (which means you pay 99 cents!)
Revlon Nail and Eye cosmetics are Buy One, Get One 50% Off

CVS
Revlon Eye, Lip, and Nail cosmetics are Buy One, Get One 50% Off
Nicole by OPI- buy 2, get $5 in Extrabucks rewards
Essie nail strips starting at $8

And I have a few reminders as well...
Maria of Cult Nails is still having a sale for having reached 10,000 Facebook followers! You can check out my post from yesterday to see some of her polishes. The sale is $8 per bottle, which is 30% off!

Also, this Saturday, February 23, Sally Beauty is having a Double Rewards Day! If you're a Beauty Club member and haven't used your 15% off coupon for February, you can bring it in on the 23rd and get 30% off your entire purchase!

I apologize for the short post and having no nails to show you today, instead, please enjoy the following memes and ecards that I found on Google. :)

I Joined the CULT!

Hey there everyone!

Recently I have ventured into the land of indie nail polish, and today I get to share some of them with you! That's right, I joined the cult- Cult Nails of course! Developed by the now-famous Maria, she has created an amazing collection of polishes that have taken the nail world by storm!

I picked up the following colors during a sale a few weeks ago. Maria is currently hosting another sale, starting today - details at the end of this post!

left to right:
Charming
Princess
I Got Distracted
Coveted

Charming

Charming is a shimmery, dusty lilac. This color is just so pretty, I can't get over it! The formula is a bit sheer, I used four thin coats for these pics. This is definitely my favorite out of the four I picked up!

Princess

Princess is a beautiful baby blue with a pinkish-coppery shimmer! In person it is much more blue than my photos picked up. I used two coats here.

Coveted

Ahh, Coveted! This color is like no other! A beautiful deep green, absolutely packed with green shimmer, and as a bonus, green flakes/shards! I honestly have no other polishes like this one, it is 100% unique in my stash! I used 3 coats for these photos to show the depth this has!

I Got Distracted

I Got Distracted is another awesome, unique color! Amazing holographic shimmery bits and green glitter in a bluish-black base! I mean... this is just droolworthy! I purposely left the second shot blurry so you can really see the holo. I used 2 coats for these pics, as well as 2 coats of Seche Vite to even out the bumpiness from all the glittery goodness!

Here is the post Maria put up this morning announcing her sale! Click here or on the picture to go to her website and have your wallet ready, because if you're anything like me, you won't be able to leave it until you buy something!!

Do you have any Cult Nails polishes? Leave a comment below if you pick anything up during the sale this weekend!

First Water Marbling Attempt!

What's up party people!

Today I have a nail-of-the-day look that includes my first attempt at water marbling! Let me tell you, it may seem like a pretty simple technique, but it's really hard to get the swirls just right, and to do it fast enough so the polish doesn't dry on the water! I absolutely need to practice this more, because I really love the look it creates.

I only did the water marbling on my accent nails because I started to get frustrated! First pic is my left hand, second is the right:

The polishes I used were: China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise, China Glaze Deviantly Daring, and Wet N Wild Megalast Break the Ice.

After doing these two, I realized I would never get through a full ten fingers, so I pulled out one of my favorite Orly's, Go Deeper, which matched really well!

Index and pinkie fingers:
1 coat Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear White On
1 coat Wet N Wild Megalast Break the Ice
2 coats Orly Go Deeper

Middle finger:
1 coat China Glaze Deviantly Daring
(original I had used Turned Up Turquoise as a base with Deviantly Daring as a stamp, it didn't come out the way I was hoping, so I just went over the whole nail with Deviantly Daring instead!)

After everything was dry I sealed it with a coat of Gelous, which gives a nice thick protective layer to your mani. (You can find it at Sally Beauty for around $5)

Hope you like my lame attempt at this technique!

Before I go I just want to give you a little sneak peek at the nail mail I got yesterday! That's right... indies! Look for these babies soon here on the blog!

 See y'all tomorrow!
